A First Approximation to Good Web Page Design
To most people the idea of web page design means a graphical
presentation of websites. Yes, the graphics may be responsible for the
good looks of a web page, but most of its relevance and design is owed
to the writing found on the pages. This is an important issue that is
often overlooked by many web page designers today. A study conducted on
web page design and its components revealed that people actually spend a
great deal of time reading web pages.
When the users arrive on a web page, only 22% fix their eyes solely on
the graphics, while 78% focus mainly on the text that is found on the
site. In short, people are often drawn to the articles, headlines,
summaries, and captions that greet them within the design of the site.
And it will take most of them a second look to finally fixate their
attention on the graphics.
The writing skills and creativeness of the site brings it a great deal
of utility. This is also where advertisers capitalize the most, as words
which are exceptionally written and directed to a targeted consumer
often produces revenues to internet marketing business owners.
The Interface Design
The interface design of the website is the copywriting of the
advertising agencies. They are both being utilized to describe a product
or service found on the site. As a copywriter struggles to give life by
means of writing articles about a product, an interface design will
direct the clicks to a desired page, and allows the user to access
various areas on the site. Interface designing mainly focuses on writing
and designing labels, content and titles. The words “search,” “go,” or
“upload” which you may fling alongside a typing box on every web page is
an example of a label. The clickable button on which these labels are
often written is important, for they provide the next step which
determines the next action to be taken after reading a page. They should
be situated in a noticeable part of the page, and a good design is
needed to attract viewers to use it.
Zipping your content
People browsing the web don’t want to read all those pages when they
are looking for a specific topic. It would help a lot if you “zip” the
content of the pages in neat files or folder with protruding labels that
the browsers can click on to see what’s inside. It would also help if
you have a one sentence summary of the content outside the folder, as
this allows the readers and search engines to quickly redirect their
attention to the specific content they are looking for.
link Building
link building is the process establishing compatibility through
Search Engine Optimization, or SEO. SEO is always considered significant
for every word that is entered into the search engines, and it
determines the ranking of every page and site on the Search Results
Pages, or SERP. Google has developed a system on which searching on the
web becomes “user-friendly” and “consumer friendly.” They have develop a
process of elimination where they link to beneficial and friendly sites
rather than sites that are not beneficial or not related at all. They
have developed a more efficient algorithm that determines the number of
links from the other sites received by the sites you are searching, and
only those quality links are being redirected to the sites you are
browsing.
In this case Google has arranged the most relevant links to be on the
first line, or at the top of the search results. Those sites with the
domain names .edu, .org, and .gov are the first on the line because they
are the most credible and reliable source. Next would be .com and .net.
In this case only the most relevant sources can be found in the top
list, and the information will become less relevant as you go down to
the bottom of the page. Therefore, if you want to get your site at the
top of their list as the most relevant site in whatever category your
website falls under, you must establish a good linking campaign.
